Hello folks, here at Furniture7 we do more than just help people get awesome online deals through furniture on credit and furniture financing. We also like to keep an eye out for some of the best DIY projects you can do to save you money while making basic items look like a million bucks! Enjoy this quick and easy alarm clock DIY and let me know what you think the comments below!
Part #1 – The small stuff
DIY: Make a $1 Clock Look High-End Using Washi Tape
2. Gather These Supplies
Travel clock (I got mine at IKEA but you can try Target too)
Mod Podge (Matte or Gloss formula)
Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
3. Pick the washi tape you love and start spreading it across the face of the clock, smoothing as you go. I didn’t want to waste any washi (this stuff is precious!), so I tore it when going across the face and then continued on the other side.
At any point you can start trimming the washi tape with your craft knife.
4. There’s a little area between the clock face and the plastic body of the clock where you can run the craft knife around and trim the washi. Just go slowly and carefully. Then flip the clock onto its face and trim the sides.
5. Use your Mod Podge to seal – let dry for 15 minutes and then add Mod Podge Dimensional Magic on the top. Let it dry for several hours. The Dimensional Magic is optional, but I love the glossy sheen.
And there you have it! It’s a simple craft, that’s inexpensive and fun to make. Let me know in the comments if there is any other crafts or items you’d like to see, and I’ll get a post made up!
