I have a deep, dark and well, cozy confession to make. I have an absolutely overwhelming love for rugs! Thick shaggy rugs, short bristly rugs, soft rugs you can flop on, intricate Persian and oriental rugs, rugs of all shapes and sizes…heck even the bathroom rug gets me going!
The unassuming rug gives comfort to a cold, bare floor and creates life within an otherwise boring room. Rugs can be great for adding that little extra something to your space to make guests go “WOW!”. And furthermore, if you own a pet they will thank you for giving them their new favorite spot to lounge and snooze.
Needless to say when I got the VIP invite to attend the Furniture Fair New York’s Rug Show at the Javits Center on September 10th – 13th, I was one very happy lady for sure!
Why am I so crazy about rugs? Allow me to explain.
Interior design on a budget can be a challenge. I find that rugs can be an amazing solution to make a space look extra luxe without breaking the bank.
Rugs come in all shapes and sizes and when it comes to price they can vary greatly. It’s important to find the right rug to match your home at the right price, size and fit!
Area rugs will dress up your hardwood, tile and laminate areas and make for a great conversation starter. Area rugs also add color, style, and uniqueness to any room. Did you know you can even hang rugs on the wall as tapestry art? No need to paint the walls and you can change the rug with the seasons.
Rugs define a space or area like the dining room or living room and they can bring warmth to your bedroom. Rugs help bring a room together creating depth and style. I love getting out of bed and stepping onto my soft, shaggy rug. I also love how it plays off the floor color up to the throw pillows and pictures on the wall.
So yes, I’m a little rug crazy, but there is no denying that a versatile, voluptuous rug makes a room. How could you not feel as snug as a bug in a rug knowing you made a great, functional and budget friendly purchase for your home? Get yourself one and you’ll thank me later.
